Suicide is always an incredibly hard thing to experience and it’s never easy to accept. I’ve lost my brother to this illness or whatever it is and it was very painful and still is so I know how you must feel about Erik. It’s nice that you are remembering him this way and also trying to help others that might be having problems or may know others in trouble. I really hope this helps save lives because each life is so precious and I only wish we could all understand that.
“Thanks, Scarlett, for commenting about this. Suicide is one of the hardest things a person can go through. The effect…it ripples…”
Very poignant…. beautiful tribute.
“Thanks, Monica. I miss him everyday.”
A beautiful tribute to your friend. I have been there myself when my stepsister killed herself several years back.
So sorry for your loss! The grief has a whole different flavor when it comes to suicide.
My son hung himself in 1994 and he was my only child. Suicide has such a stigma and people don’t understand it is an illness. My heart goes out to this young man’s family. Only those who have been through it can understand it.
“Roy, I cannot imagine. My heart goes out to you in the loss of your only son.”
So many people suffer from depression and taking their lives is sometimes the only way they see to get out of the pain they’re in. Your friend was a handsome man and I feel so bad for his family. My grandfather and father both committed suicide and it is a hard path to walk. May we never forget those who have left us in such a tragic way.
It is the saddest way to lose someone in my opinion. Very sorry for your loss!!
I lost 4 friends to suicide in the span of one year. I feel your pain and sadness. God bless them all.
“So sorry for your loss, Amanda.”
My sister completed suicide 5 years ago and I still ask what I could have done different to save her life. Thank you for posting this to raise awareness.
“Very sorry for your loss, Dianne. I ask myself everyday what I could have possibly done different and I never come up with an answer. Thanks for your comment.”
