Truly Madly Sassy began in 2016 as a creative outlet for me when traditional journaling became stale and stagnant. I’ve always been told that I’m a writer at heart, but I never really gave it much thought until a former college professor of mine encouraged me to start a blog, impressing upon me that I didn’t need a degree to do what I love. After a few months of prodding and needling from him, the seed that was planted grew into a full-fledged, blooming flower garden, chock-full of the words and stories that have made it a reality.
I currently reside in Northeast Tennessee with my dog Snickers, who is the love of my life. My favorite words are ‘grace’, ‘serendipity’, and ‘bliss’. Nutella is my all-time guiltiest pleasure, and I’m an avid coloring book enthusiast. In fact, my friends say that I’m one marker away from an intervention because I have so many pens! I’m also a free-spirited, sunflower-loving hobby baker, as well as a full-time mental health advocate with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from King University in Bristol, Tennessee. Social work has always been close to my heart, but my true passion is writing.
I write what I know, and what I know the most about is grief coupled with loss, love accompanied with mind-numbing heartbreak, and faithlessness entwined with hope. My blog entries are frequently a reflection of my own life experiences and focus on friendships, love, relationships, and sorrow. Occasionally, I’ll write something amusing to lighten the mood, but most of the time, I write from a soul level about the things that I deem sacred and dear to my innermost being.
Letting my thoughts flow out through the tips of my fingers is the cheapest form of therapy I’ve ever had, and the most important thing I’ve learned over the years while blogging is that my story not only heals me, but supports the healing of others as well. Thank you for allowing me to share my life with you and for extending the grace that permits me to do it in such a raw, transparent manner. The honor, pleasure, and privilege are all mine.
